1940s Train Ride from Edinburgh to Newtonmore

Alex Ingram (Isobel Balfour’s brother) was ‘railway mad’. This film records a 1940s train ride from Edinburgh to Newtonmore, and the surrounding scenes.
Note that the ferry at South Queensferry, from the Forth Rail Bridge (the road bridge didn’t commence building until 1958).

The LMS became British Rail on the 1st April 1948, but because there are no family members in the film, it may have been one of his wartime (1939-1945) holidays with Frank Balfour, using the ‘Raxaul’ camera.
His own camera was 9.5mm, and not 16mm.
